Induction Service for Rev. Dr. Caz Ducros – November 17, 2024
The Induction Service for Reverend Doctor Caz Ducros as the Incumbent Priest for the Parish of Chelsea-Lascelles- Wakefield took place at St Mary Magdalene Church in Chelsea, Quebec on November 17, 2024. The Venerable Eric Morin, Incumbent and Archdeacon of West Quebec, presided at the Service. The Very Reverend Beth Bretzlaff, Dean of Ottawa and Rector of Christ Church Cathedral gave the homily. After the Service those in attendance gathered for fellowship and refreshments in the St Mary Magdalene Church Hall.

Induction Service for Rev. Caz Ducros – November 17, 2024
Rev. Caz Ducros will be inducted as the Incumbent priest for the Churches of St Mary Magdalene, Good Shepherd and Holy Trinity in the Parish of Chelsea-Lascelles- Wakefield on Sunday , November 17, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. at St Mary Magdalene Church in Chelsea, Quebec. The Very Reverend Beth Bretzlaff, Dean of Ottawa and Rector of Christ Church Cathedral, will preside at the Induction Service, and will be accompanied by the Venerable Eric Morin, Archdeacon of West Quebec. A reception in the hall of St Mary Magdalene Church will follow the Induction Service. All are welcome.
FAITH-BASED BOOK CLUB
The Faith-Based Book Club – Began on Thursday October 10th at 10 am at SMM church in the Sanctuary and by zoom (hybrid). We are reading Nadia Boltz-Weber’s Book, Accidental Saints: Finding God in All the Wrong People. Each chapter of the book is a discrete story and so it is possible for people to join in at any time. There is no session on Thursday, October 17, 2024 , but sessions will resume on October 24th and we will be discussing chapters 4-7. Dates for all remaining sessions are: Oct 24, 31; Nov 7, 14, 28th , (please note there will not be sessions on October 17, or November 21). For Zoom link, email: ducrosrevcaz@gmail.com
ORANGE SHIRT DAY SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 29 at 9:00 a.m.
In the spirit of reconciliation and the Calls To Act established by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Sunday Worship on September 29, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. will honour the victims and survivors of the Residential Schools system and the impact of their legacy on First Nations. Phyllis Webstad, a Residential School survivor, was sent to St Joseph's Residential School located outside of Williams Lake, B.C., at the age of six. Her grandmother bought her an orange shirt to wear on her first day of school. Upon arrival at the school, the authorities took away Phyllis' new orange shirt, which was never returned. National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Saturday, September 28, 2024
A grassroots community group in Chelsea called "Truth and Reconciliation- Chelsea" is working with Gilbert Whiteduck, Algonquin Anishinabeg Elder, to honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Please, save the date and join us in honouring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Date: Saturday, September 28, 2024 Time: 3:00-5:30 p.m. Location: Meredith Centre This event is free of charge. All are welcome. During the event, the 94 Calls To Action prepared by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, will be read aloud.
