Shrove Tuesday, February 17, 2026 Pancake Supper
Members of St Mary Magdalene Church (Chelsea), the Church of the Good Shepherd (Wakefield) , Grace United Church (Chelsea) and l'Eglise presbyterienne camerounaise gathered in the hall at St Mary Magdalene Church to share a pancake supper on Shrove Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Over 50 people enjoyed a meal of pancakes, sausages, bacon, baked beans, fruit salad and Cameroonian "beignets" .
EVENING PRAYER , WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 5:30 P.M.
Evening Prayer services take place on the First Wednesday of each month at St Mary Magdalene Church (Chelsea) at 5:30 pm and the Second Tuesday of each month at the Church of the Good Shepherd (Wakefield) at 7:00 pm. The next two Evening Prayer Services will take place on February 4th at 5:30 pm at St Mary Magdalene Church and February 10th at 7:00 pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd (Wakefield) . Please join in a short (approximately 30 minutes), quiet prayer service after the busyness of the day.
SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER FEBRUARY 17, 2026
Joint St Mary Magdalene (Chelsea), Good Shepherd (Wakefield) and Grace United Church (Chelsea) Pancake Supper at St Mary Magdalene Church, 537 Route 105 , Chelsea on Tuesday, February 17, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.. If you are intending to come, please, contact Rev. Dr. Caz Ducros (343) 575-1836 ; ducrosrevcaz@gmail.com. The pancake will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The cost is on a sliding-scale: an individual starting at $10 to a donation of a greater amount; a family starting at $20 to a donation of a higher amount.
ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICES FEBRUARY 18, 2026
Ash Wednesday Service - February 18th - will take place at St Mary Magdalene Church (Chelsea) at 10 am. This will be a joint service with Grace United Church. There will also be Ashes to Go, which includes a short and simple drop in service, that takes place in waves between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd (Wakefield. More information on the Ashes to Go service is attached in the Ash Wednesday and Lenten flyer. It is an excellent way to observe the first day of lent for those with busy schedules or whose schedules do not permit attending the morning service.
