This month is Black History month. You may be interested in the following CBC eight part documentary series. There is also a special screening this Thursday of Part 8 at the Museum of Civilization.

While we’re writing you about this series during Black History month, its producer Leslie Norville made this point: it was really important for her that this series not be shown for the first time during Black History Month. — The idea behind the show is that Black history is Canadian history.

2. This Thursday, the Museum of Civilization is also holding

 a free screening of Part 8 of this series, from 6-8pm. A panel discussion — featuring filmmakers, experts and individuals from the series — will follow the screening.
